We are a group of individuals that selected Carol and her line of Bihar Löwchen to establish our own breeding programs and worked closely with Carol and each other to continue the tradition of high standard established by Bihar.   Our kennels all started with the help and support of Carol and we continue to grow and work together for the betterment of the breed.  Prior to her death the future of Bihar was discussed and she was pleased and gave her blessing to us retaining  the use of the Bihar name so that it was not going to die with her but continue to develop into the future.  The blueprint she set for us is clear. Quality, sound and typey dogs true to the breed.
Bihar in our dogs names will honour Carol as our mentor and friend in the years to come.
..
We have broken the site down so you can visit us individually and learn a bit about where we have each been and how we came to form this special friendship.

We hope you enjoy the new format and seeing our dogs.

August 30, 1938 - January 28, 2011

Carol A. Strong and her world renowned Bihar Löwchen were located in Cazenovia, New York.  Carol  successfully bred and finished over 100 Am. Champion Bihar Afghans, Lhasa Apso's, and PBGV's (Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen).  She discovered the Löwchen while still showing her Lhasa's and obtained her first Löwchen in the early 1980's and fell in love with the breed.  She credits Ivytree, Carolyn Marzano and Lionheart, Della Cialini, for much of Bihar's success.  Up to the time of her death, Bihar produced over 30 Am. Champion Löwchen including  Best in Show, Multi Best in Specialty Show and Group winning dogs in the US and Canada.   Carol was highly respected by fellow breeders around the world and was Education Chair for the Löwchen Club of America for many years.  She was actively involved in the club and had the honour of judging Sweepstakes at the LCA National in 2009.  A former professional handler and groomer,  her life was  devoted to her dogs and the sport of showing dogs .  Carol always retained the highest level of quality something the Bihar name has become synonymous for.  Carol didn't just go to a dog show, she lived it, sitting through the Groups, studying the dogs seldom leaving before BIS and she truly loved the opportunity to support and educate those around her that had questions.  Personable, approachable, helpful, supportive, Carol was all of those things and more.

Carol Strong is a woman with an eye for a great dog, who understands the correlation between structure and type and has an amazing history in the sport of dogs and a passion for Löwchen.  Carol has provided Dungloe,Tapestry and Windsor with their foundation and become a great friend and tremendous mentor.  We all work closely with Carol, co-breeding and co-owning dogs. Her generosity in sharing her knowledge as well as her dogs with us has been invaluable.

A rare commodity Carol is a true "dog" person whose life has been committed towards the betterment of this sport and the true love of dogs.  By working together we can help each other with breedings, placement and showing of our dogs.  We are very proud of what Carol has produced and happy to be able to be a part of the Bihar tradition of quality.
